Who covers which station today?
A skills matrix coverage checker. It opens on the example from the skills matrix guide: change the names, the levels and the number each station needs, then tick who is out today.
How it counts
Only people at level 3, independent, or level 4, trains others, count as coverage. A station's status is that count minus the number it needs. A critical station with one qualified person passes a rule of one and is still a single point of failure, so the checker lists it separately. In TeamGuru the same question is answered by backups: each skill records who covers whom, and the matrix shows skills with no backup. The levels and the evidence behind each one are in the skills matrix guide; when the matrix needs to cover several teams, shifts or sites, see skills matrix software in TeamGuru.
Frequently asked questions
What does the coverage checker calculate?
For every station it counts the people at level 3 or higher, compares that with the number you need, and shows the difference: −1 is a gap, ✓ is covered, +2 is spare cover. It also lists critical stations that depend on a single person, and with people marked out today, what the shift loses.
Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
The matrix stays in your browser, saved locally so a reload does not lose it. Nothing you type is sent to TeamGuru. Use Export CSV to keep a copy.
How is this different from the Excel template?
The checker answers one question fast: who covers what today. The Excel template adds a qualification log with expiry dates and a cross-training plan, for running the matrix over months.
